To help you understand the total cost of a trip or business expense, you can create an Activity. An Activity is a collection of connected bookings and cards created in the Visa Commercial Pay App. This allows Visa to combine the spend of all the connected cards and show you the total cost of your trip, event, project, or other business activity.
New Hotel or Air bookings that are linked to an existing user email will automatically generate a new Trip related to the booking. You can also manually create and link activities to your cards in the App. Activities can be associated with more than one card. For example, you may have an e-commerce card to pay for a hotel trip, and also a digital wallet card for on-the-go payments. However, you can only have one activity associated with a card.
How are Trips created?
Hotel and Air Deployments are automatically linked when the traveler 's email address is present on the deployment. Visa Commercial Pay also uses the hotel location, flight destination, and travel dates to group the bookings appropriately. The city name of the hotel or destination airport is used as the name of the trip. If we cannot identify a city from the booking details, we will use the hotel or supplier name. Your bookings are assigned to a Trip within 30 seconds of being created.
How can I manually link a Hotel or Flight Booking?
To do this, you must have an email domain on your account that matches the registered email domain against the virtual card account. We do not support public email domains for this feature, such as gmail.com or hotmail.com.
In the Activities screen, scroll to the bottom and tap Link Booking.
Select the type of booking you are searching for:
You will be prompted to enter the following information, depending on the type of card you are searching for:
For Hotel cards:
Hotel confirmation reference;
Traveler name (this is pre-filled with the surname on your profile, but you can overtype if needed);
For Flight cards:
Departure airport code;
Traveler name (this is pre-filled with the surname on your profile, but you can overtype if needed).
How do I edit the details of an Activity?
Navigate to the Activity in the Visa Commercial Pay App and tap Edit in the top right of the screen.
Change the details that need to be altered and click Update. Your Activity will now display your updated details.
How can I assign a card to an Activity?
Navigate to the cards details screen and scroll to the "Other Information" section to find the "Activity" heading.
Tap Assign Activity and select the type of Activity you want to associate to the card. Tap Next.
You will be presented with a list of your existing Activities. Tap the existing Activity to link it to the card, or tap Create a new ____ to create a new Activity to link to the card.
How do I create a new Activity?
You can create a new Activity from the card details screen by following the instructions above. Alternatively, navigate to the Your Activity section of the home screen and tap Your Activity. From the Activities screen, tap the + symbol in the top right of the screen.
You will be presented with a list of Activity types. Choose the Activity type and tap Next.
Enter the name and dates of the Activity and click Create.
Activity dates are separate from the card activation dates.
