Visa Commercial Pay gives you the ability to make straight-through supplier payments.
With Straight-Through Processing (STP), virtual cards are processed with no action required by suppliers, and the funds are automatically delivered into the supplier’s bank account.
With speedy supplier boarding and a seamless, intuitive UI, you can enable more of your supplier base for card acceptance.
Please contact your issuer if you would like more information on enabling STP for your supplier payments in Visa Commercial Pay.
Client Administrators or Super Administrators can set up suppliers in the Supplier Management section of Visa Commercial Pay.
The next screen allows administrators to search and view suppliers that have already been set up for STP, as well as their status.
Supplier Approval Status displays whether the supplier record needs to be approved by another Admin user before payments can be made to that supplier.
STP Payment Method indicates which STP payment method has been configured for that supplier record. Once approved and active, all card payments will be processed by that provider on behalf of the supplier.
STP Provider status indicates whether the STP connectivity for the supplier has been completed or further action is required:
-
Setup Required—Further action is required by you.
-
Information Required —the STP provider requires further information about your supplier before they can complete the process of enabling your supplier for card acceptance via Visa Commercial Pay . The supplier boarding flow chosen (see Buyer-driven onboarding flow vs Supplier-driven onboarding flow for further details) determines who is responsible for providing the outstanding information to Stripe.
-
Awaiting Supplier Registration —this status only applies to the supplier-driven onboarding flow and indicates that the supplier has yet to register for an account directly with the STP provider.
Click Add New Supplier to initiate the process of enabling a supplier for card acceptance in Visa Commercial Pay.
Enter the supplier’s details. The Supplier Identifier must be unique to the supplier you are looking to pay. We recommend that you use a ‘friendly’ name for the Supplier Name field, as this is the name Visa Commercial Pay displays when card deployers choose to make a payment to that supplier.
All other client admins linked to your account will receive an automated email notification prompting them to review and approve the supplier record. Any Admin user reviewing the supplier record submitted for approval has visibility of the Supplier Details and any STP Options set up for the supplier.
The Admin user who created the supplier record will receive email notifications for all approved or rejected supplier records.
Once the supplier record is approved and an STP provider is enabled, users within your organization with card deployment rights will be able to make payments to that supplier. Please see STP Providers for more information on enabling suppliers for card acceptance with specific STP providers.
Client administrators can swiftly identify any supplier records currently awaiting approval from the Suppliers Awaiting Approval section of Supplier Management.
You can edit or delete a supplier record that you created at any time, however, another Admin user can't update the supplier record before approving or rejecting it. The Admin user who created or last modified a supplier record with a Pending Approval status can still modify it.
Once approved, any edits to a supplier record require re-approval from another Admin user before they take effect.
Deleting a supplier record will have no impact on any completed or pending payments to that supplier.
The Action History provides an audit history for all supplier records, including the username, date, and timestamp for all creations, modifications, and approvals.
